The Central Bureau of Statistic recorded August 2021 inflation at 0.03%. Annual inflation (January-August) 2021 was recorded at 0.84% and year on year inflation (August 2021 to August 2020) at 1.59%. The Deputy of Central Bank of Indonesia (BI) Dody Budy Waluyo stated that the low inflation and core inflation rates were in line with the limited domestic demand, stable exchange rates, and policy consistency to control the inflation estimation in the targeted range and he estimated that inflation will remain in the 3.0±1% range in 2021 and 2022.
