President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is confident that the Jendral Besar Soedirman Airport in Purbalingga and the Semarang-Demak Toll Road will boost the economy in Central Java by accelerating the economic growth and improving accessibility for the population. The airport has been in operational since June 1st, 2021 with its first commercial flight on June 3rd, 2021. Meanwhile, the Semarang-Demak Toll Road of 26.7 kilometers in length will be developed into two sections with the first section currently in the auction phase and the construction planned to start in January 2022 and the completion in November 2024.
