Indonesia's External Debt Rises to US$431.7 Billion in the Fourth Quarter

Bank Indonesia (BI) reported that Indonesia’s external debt rose to US$431.7 billion in the fourth quarter of 2025 from US$427.6 billion in the previous quarter, with a debt-to-GDP ratio standing at 29,9%. Almost all of the external debt is long term, representing 99.99% of the total, which reduces short term repayment pressures. Private sector external debt decreased to US$192.8 billion in the fourth quarter from US$194.5 billion in the previous quarter.
