BI-Rate Rises to 5.25 in May 2026

Bank Indonesia (BI) raised the BI-Rate by 50 basis points to 5.25% in BI Board of Governor Meeting on 19–20 May as the continuation effort to shield Rupiah exchange rate stability from recent pressures. The deposit facility and lending facility interest rates were also raised to 4.25% and 6%, respectively. The decision is to keep the 2026-2027 inflation rate in the targeted 2.5%±1%.
